Any amount, however slight OVER the house consistently is better than winning big from time to time and sustaining many huge unrecoverable loses that keep you in the red. Most people don't keep track of this because they really don't want to know how bad it is. Conversely, on a double deck table under certain set house rules using just basic strategy alone the casino is supposed to have just a .5% edge over the player which should be just one dollar for every $200 bet, but they get it all, go figure. That's their 100% and when you go digging, well you get the picture, do the math.
